Hey guys! Me and Tymko still have a lead over code team, so for the rest of the week, you’ll have to deal with design team explaining all the things we think are cool about the game. Today’s Dev Blog (as you might have guessed from the infographic) is about elemental combat in Project Purple. Project Purple has 6 elements, Fire-Air-Plant-Electric-Water-Earth, which form a funny rock-paper-scissors system that’s easier to explain visually (note the chart). The idea was that each type should be strong against two types, weak against two types, and have a fair match-up against the last two (one of which is its own).
I just wanted to signal boost for Project Purple, an upcoming game for the iPhone! I’m on the art team along with several other very talented individuals, and this is a graphic I made up last night to help David with the explanation of the battle system. There’s your typical advantages, but there’s also strategy: It’s kind of like Magic the Gathering in that way, and kind of like Pokemon in others. Give it a look see, follow the blog, you’ll see LOTS more updates soon!
